The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty traded down the line in a morning session. Sensex down 38.87 points at 26484.22 and Nifty down 26.20 points 8017.54.
Shares of Nestle India rising more than 2 percent on Tuesday morning after its Maggi noodles manufactured in India met Singapore's food safety standards.
Some buying activity is seen in a capital goods sector while pharma, auto, metal, oil&gas and consumer durables sectors are showing weakness on BSE.
Vedanta, M&M, Hindalco Industries, ICICI Bank, GAIL, Axis Bank and L&T are among the gainers, whereas Tata Steel, Cipla, ITC, Bharti Airtel and Coal India are losing sheen on BSE.
