The Sensex finished down 562.88 points or 2 percent at 25201.90 and the Nifty tanked 165.45 points or 2 percent at 7657.55. Around 585 shares propelled, 2112 shares declined, and 80 shares were unaltered. 

Vedanta, GAIL, Tata Steel, Hindalco and Dr Reddy's Labs were major losers while Bharti Airtel, Coal India were up 1 percent. 

Falling for the third straight day, gold prices dropped by Rs 80 to Rs 26,730 at the bullion showcase to a great extent in coupled with debilitating pattern in worldwide markets in the midst of low request from jewelers. 

Then again, silver reinforced by Rs 275 to Rs 35,575 for each kg on expanded offtake by modern units and coin makers. Bullion traders said a powerless pattern abroad after the European Central Bank flagged it could expand stimulus, which supported the dollar and diminished interest for a place of refuge, put weight on the valuable metal prices.
