Markets gave up early gains and are yet again heading southwards. Midcap too turns negative with 0.07% loss and Smallcap sheds gains and remains 0.1% up. Market bias becomes slightly negative with 772 advances and 805 declines on NSE. Media sector extends losses and tumbles 1.6% in the wake of 4.5% loss in Sun TV followed by 2.3% in PVR. On the contrary, Realty and IT remain up with 1% plus gains. Power Grid, Ultratech Cements and Infratel surge 2% plus while Lupin tumbles 2.4%. Tata Power, ZEEL, Adani Ports and Hindalco plunge 1% and more.

Indian Stock Market is currently on a flat note now. Sensex is 3 points up at 28896 while Nifty is 17 points down at 8921. Some sectors like Smallcap and Midcap are in the positive zone.

PRECIOUS METALS: Precious metal prices are expected to trade high for the day as hopes for rapid tax reforms under the Trump administration faded, bolstering demand for the precious metal.

ENERGY: Crude oil prices are expected to trade high for the day, after data released by an industry group showed a surprise decline in U.S. crude stocks as imports fell, lending support to the view that a global glut is ending.

BASE METALS: Base metals prices are trade lower today as recent steps by China to raise its property tax will hurt demand. Also, uncertainty due to upcoming European elections will hurt risk appetite.

Cement And Banking Stocks Rising - Latest Market Updates

Stock Market opened flat, Sensex is maintaining its early gains with hike of 86.24 points at 26480 while Nifty is withstanding its level at 8173 with 31 points gain. Bullion Market is marginally down today. MCX Gold has dropped 73 points at 28689 while Silver has dropped 92 points at 40746. Crude Oil hiked 20 points at 3133. Cement Stocks and some Banking stocks are rising.

Indian currency Rupee is trading higher by 17 paise at 68.54 against US Dollar. In broader market, BSE Bankex is 194 points up at 21052 while Bank Nifty jumped up 169 points at 18392. About 1527 shares have advanced 670 shares have declined and 150 are still unchanged.

Having a sight on Asian Market, Global indices are trading flat. Nikkei has dropped 26 points at 18280, Hang Seng is 71 points at 22808 and Shanghai Composite with minor fall of 29 points live at 3253.

In broader market, BSE Small Cap is just 2 points up at 11496 while BSE Mdcap is 21 points up at 11755 and Nifty Midcap has gained 22 points at 13980. Overall, 1113 share shave advanced, 1109 shares have declined and 149 shares are still unchanged.

In Commodity Market, Gold moved up 85 points at 29220 while Silver paced up 527 points at 41044. In energy sector, Natural Gas hiked 3 points at 203 and Crude Oil is 24 points up at 3339.

Sensex and Nifty opened with high leads today but indices erased their early gains and drifted in the negative zone. Sensex dropped 34 points to 28299 and Nifty dropped 14 points to 8754. Smallcap and Midcap sectors are trading in the positive zone. BSE SMallcap is 51 points up to 13260, BSE Midcap is trading 32 points up to 13581 and Nifty Midcap has gained 70 points to 16050.

Market Summary -

The BSE Sensex climbed 271.13 points to 28805.10, aided by banking & financial, capital goods and auto stocks. The NSE Nifty closed above the 8700 level, up 84.15 points at 8711.55. 

Experts believe the Nifty may cross 9000 mark if the Budget comes as per street estimates. According to them, Russia and Ukraine agree ceasefire was one of the reasons today that helped the market post higher gains. 

The rupee closed above 62 a dollar today, down 5 paise to 62.30 and continued its fall for the fourth consecutive day.
