The BSE Sensex is trading at 30,099 down 32 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9348 down 3 points. A total of 65 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 14 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.13% at 14781, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.11% at 15299. Some buying activity is seen in Utilities, Information Technology and Automobiles indices, while FMCG, Energy and Metal indices are showing weakness on BSE. Tata Motors, Power Grid, Yes Bank and Ambuja Cement are among the gainers, whereas Tata Steel, ITC, Reliance and Grasim are losing on the NSE.

Indian Stock Market Updates - Stock and Commodity Tips By Experts

After yesterday's rally, Indian Stock Market opened with heavy gains but however indices erased some early gains and moved down. Sensex is live at 29669 with 83 points gain while Nifty is just 3 points up at 9155. Except FMCG sector all the sectors are trading in the negative zone. BSE Small Cap is 14 points down at 13991, BSE MidCap ha lost 64 points at 13847 and Nifty MidCap is 68 points down at 16824. Reversing its 4-day climb, the rupee fell 24 paise to 65.65 against the dollar as the American currency got some of its lure back among banks and importers. The Indian Rupee had gained 28 paise to close at a fresh 16-month high of 65.41 on Thursday after the US Fed stuck to its stance of a gradual approach on future rate hikes.

Asian Market Updates: Japan's Nikkei slipped 63 points at 19562 while Hang Seng is 79 points up at 24367. China's Shanghai Composite is 8 points down at 3260.

Mahindra & Mahindra: Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) today reported 10% decline in total sales at 39,303 units in January. The company had sold 43,789 units in the corresponding month last year. Hero MotoCorp reported sales of 4,87,088 units for the month of January 2017 against 563,348 units sold in the same month last year.

Apollo Tyres: Apollo Tyres posted 6% enhance in consolidated net profit to Rs 296 crore for the December quarter, riding on strong sales across domestic and overseas markets. The company, had reported net a profit of Rs 279 crore for the same period of last fiscal.

Equity benchmarks dropped in early trade today. Currently, Sensex is 313 points down at 25837 and Nifty has dropped 114 points at 7959.
